Job Responsibilities

This position will report into the Data Governance Group Manager for Global Consumer Bank.    This position will work closely with the Chief Data Office Organization, Operational Risk & Control, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Data Services Group, Information Technology, and Business stakeholders in all of the countries where Citi Global Consumer Bank has a footprint. This role is fundamental in helping executive management define, and govern the execution of the strategy in tracing data across various systems and ensuring that all issues are dispositioned. This role will conduct cross organization surveys to understand and map out data flow from origination to Regulatory reports and will create and provide executive management with scorecards to track Data tracing activity. Additionally in this role an individual will support the creation and delivery of safety and soundness reporting, candidate will work closely with Finance and Technology to ensure that we provide accurate and proper financial estimates for various programs such as IMRs/EUC/Data governance and others. This role will support newly created and still to be defined digital control strategyThis role will transform high level goals into action plans, that cross-functional stakeholders will execute and will conduct the necessary activities related to controls outlined in the Citi Data Management Policy.Responsibilities:

  • Citi is committed to strengthen controls around data and ensure that quality data is included in our financial and management reports. Global Consumer Bank is working on an efforts to support FRSS in tracing CDEs (Critical Data Elements) and associated values from RegInsight to its origination while mapping out all of the data hops.
  • Work closely with regional DGOs, Business SMEs and Global Consumer Technology partners to conduct Quality Assurance to ensure acceptance of traced data points.
  • Create Cover letter(s) to ensure adequate guidance is provided to the Chief Data Office testing teams.
  • Ensures proper and accurate collaboration between Finance and Technology.
  • Tracks, reports and updates KRI & KPI data as requested.
  • Tracks daily performance related to various stages within data tracing phases and provides updates to senior staff.
  • Works to establish a stronger process of LTP assignment, improve process efficiency and documentation turnaround.
  • Engages with various partners to ensure early detection of data differences to help identify false positive mismatches reducing impact to issue dispositioning.
  • Recommend improvements on Citi’s data management and operations between consumer banking entities and global corporate functions such as finance, risk and compliance.
  • Participates in developing executive presentation materials for Data Governance forums and Steering Committee meetings.
  • Champions the awareness and advancement of data management goals by raising visibility to the value of the data work through ongoing communications and successful delivery of major change initiatives.
  • Work with the Chief Data Office (CDO), Global Functions, GCB Data Governance Leaders (DGLs) and Consumer Technology (GCT) on time sensitive ad hoc research and reporting requests.
  • Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Math, Economics, Business.
  • 5+ years relevant experience (Consulting/Mgmt. and technology experience desired).
  • Experience in consumer/retail banking or financial services.
  • Strong technical understanding of data architecture, data quality and related technologies along with data quality management principles.
  • Data quality business process improvement experience as it pertains to compliance and data quality initiatives.
  • Ability to think strategically, creatively problem solve, and the ability to engage resources outside of their direct control to achieve objectives.
  • Solid working knowledge of core business functions such as quality management, data management, business intelligence, and information technology.
  • Experience driving large-scale technology-based change initiatives, in consumer banking such as retail banking, credit cards, mortgage, investment products, small business and commercial banking.
  • Able to work well across multiple functional areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and to interface with internal and external resources to define requirements.
  • Outstanding analytical and organizational skills with an attention to detail.
  • Capability to quickly switch contexts between strategic and detailed analyses.
  • Willingness to pitch-in with other team members. Entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to objectively evaluate established business processes, policies and programs.
  • Strong communication, presentation skills.
